Mechanical Design Engineer - Systems

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer - Systems to join our client's dynamic team.

Our client specialises in maintenance, completion, and refurbishment of both narrow and wide-body VIP aircraft, and offers cutting-edge solutions for corporate and private jet clients.

In this role, you will focus on designing system modifications related to various aircraft systems, including the Environmental Control System (ECS), Supplemental Heating, Equipment Cooling, Cabin Humidification, Soundproofing, Oxygen, Smoke Detection, and Water/Waste systems. You will also contribute to the modification of aircraft structures and interior furnishings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop modifications for aircraft systems, ensuring integration with primary and secondary structures.
• Collaborate with the Team Leader of Mechanical Design Engineering to streamline administrative and organizational tasks.
• Ensure compliance with Certification Basis, Rules and Regulations, and Means of Compliance in all engineering outputs.
• Maintain effective communication with internal engineering teams and external partners.

Core Tasks:

• Develop detailed mechanical drawings using 2D/3D CAD software.
• Select appropriate equipment, components, and materials for system modifications.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including reports, analyses, test procedures, and installation instructions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of fundamental physics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, aerospace technology, and materials; basic knowledge of acoustics is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French or German is advantageous.
• Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, CATIA) and MS Office applications.
