Job Title: Safety & Compliance Specialist

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Reports To: TSC Management

Job Type: Full Time

 

Job Summary

The Safety & Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that Technical's operations adhere to regulatory requirements and safety standards. This role involves the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety and compliance programs to maintain high levels of operational safety and regulatory compliance. The specialist will work closely with various departments to monitor compliance, conduct compliance & safety assessments, and provide guidance on safety practices.

 

Accountabilities

  • Assist in the development and maintenance the Safety Management System (SMS) and Compliance Monitoring System (CMS) in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular safety & compliance assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with aviation safety standards and regulations.
  • Identify and assess safety risks and implement mitigation measures to reduce potential hazards.
  • Investigate safety incidents and compliance violations. Prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Provide training and awareness programs on safety and compliance for staff at all levels.
  • Collaborate with Senior managers and represent Technical during safety and compliance audits and inspections.
  • Monitor changes in aviation regulations and assist with the update of internal policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Prepare and present safety performance reports to senior management.
  • Promote a safety culture within the organisation by encouraging reporting and proactive management of safety issues.
  • Ensure continuing compliance with internal policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation safety and compliance roles, preferably within a technical or maintenance environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, including CAR 145, CAR M, and ICAO standards.
  • Certified Safety Management System (SMS) professional / Lead Auditor training or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Experience with safety auditing and risk management practices.
