Position Overview
The MEP QA/QC Electrical Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems and
installations within a project meet the required standards, specifications, and codes. The
inspector will perform regular inspections, tests, and audits to maintain the quality and
functionality of electrical systems. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical
systems, industry standards, and quality assurance/control processes.
 
Key Responsibilities
1. Inspection and Testing
o Conduct thorough inspections of electrical installations, including wiring,
panels, lighting, and other electrical components, to ensure compliance with
design specifications, codes, and standards.
o Schedule and witness regular testing of electrical systems, including insulation
resistance, continuity, grounding, and functionality tests.
o Document and report any non-conformities or discrepancies found during
inspections.
2. Quality Assurance and Control
o Implement applicable QA/QC procedures and checklists specific to electrical
systems.
o Ensure that all electrical installations comply with project requirements,
industry standards, and safety regulations.
o Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship used in electrical
installations.
3. Documentation and Reporting
o Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and audits conducted on
electrical systems.
o Prepare detailed reports on the quality and compliance of electrical
installations.
o Communicate findings and recommendations to project managers, electrical
engineers, and contractors.
4. Coordination and Communication
o Work closely with project teams, including electrical engineers, contractors, and
other inspectors, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
o Provide guidance and support to contractors and subcontractors on qualityrelated
issues specific to electrical installations.
o Attend project meetings to discuss QA/QC issues and progress related to
electrical systems.
5. Compliance and Safety
o Ensure that all electrical work adheres to safety standards and regulations.
o Identify potential safety hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken
promptly.
o Conduct safety audits of electrical installations and provide recommendations
for improvement.
6. Continuous Improvement
o Stay updated with the latest industry standards, codes, and best practices
related to electrical systems.
o Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and
knowledge.
o Identify opportunities for improving QA/QC processes and procedures for
electrical systems.
 
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the Electrical Engineering
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical QA/QC inspection or a
related field.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., NEC, NFPA, or other industry-related
certifications) are preferred.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction codes, and
industry standards.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with QA/QC software and tools, as well as basic office
software (e.g., MS Office).
 
Working Conditions
• The roles require working on construction sites, which involves exposure to various
weather conditions and physical activities.
• Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours to meet project deadlines.
Reporting Line
• Reports to the QA/QC Manager or Electrical Project Manager.
