Director of Finance

The Director of Finance will work closely with the CFO to develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s overall business plan and goals. Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Financial Leadership: Guide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Lead cross-training initiatives within the Finance team to enhance skills and collaboration.
  • Strategic Advisory: Advise the CFO and senior leadership on investments, capital structure, and resource allocation to drive growth.
  • Financial Reporting & Performance: Oversee monthly and annual financial reporting, including financial statements, forecasts, and regulatory filings. Analyze financial results, recommend corrective actions, and ensure the company’s financial performance aligns with strategic objectives.
  • Policy Development & Governance: Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and best practices to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Risk Management: Oversee insurance and valuation programs, and work on risk mitigation strategies.
  • IT & Systems Oversight: Manage the IT team to deliver high service levels, implement strategic systems development projects, and ensure cybersecurity protocols are in place to mitigate risks.
  • Treasury Management: Forecast capital requirements, identify investment opportunities, and manage relationships with banks, investors, and auditors to maximize returns on investments.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Canadian CPA designation or equivalent, with at least 10 years of financial experience, including 5+ years in senior financial management.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, ASPE, GAAP, and financial systems.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to guide teams through change and growth.
  • Experience in risk management, treasury, and financial strategy development.
