Job Description
About VHR – Global Aviation Talent Experts
At VHR, we know that behind every seamless private aviation experience is a team of exceptional people. Since 2003, we’ve been connecting aviation companies with world-class professionals across flight operations, maintenance, management, and commercial functions.
Now, on behalf of one of our trusted clients—a fast-growing Part 135 operator—we are seeking a Charter Sales Manager to lead charter revenue activities, grow broker relationships, and help scale a high-performing charter department.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced aviation professional from a jet management or charter operator background—whether your prior focus has been sales, dispatch, client management, or ops—to transition into a commercially focused leadership role.
The Role
As Charter Sales Manager, you will take ownership of the company’s charter sales function, supporting and growing a high-urgency team focused on converting inbound charter enquiries, maximizing aircraft utilization, and delivering a premium client experience. You will collaborate closely with flight operations, owner services, and senior leadership to ensure sales performance is aligned with operational realities and company goals.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead and manage charter sales activities, including quoting, negotiating, and closing charter bookings.
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with charter brokers, aircraft owners, and high-value clients.
-
Collaborate with operations and flight support teams to ensure aircraft and crew are scheduled efficiently and profitably.
-
Monitor market trends and competitor pricing to support strategic positioning.
-
Develop KPIs and reporting metrics to track sales performance and fleet utilization.
-
Ensure CRM and quoting platforms (e.g., Avinode, FL3XX, Leon) are accurately maintained.
-
Contribute to the pricing strategy and provide feedback to leadership on market dynamics.
-
Support or lead recruitment, training, and coaching of sales personnel as the team grows.
-
Drive a collaborative and performance-oriented culture between sales and operational functions.
-
Respond to and resolve escalated customer service issues or complaints when needed.
-
Ensure strict compliance with all relevant FAA regulations, company manuals, and operational policies.
What We’re Looking For
-
Prior experience within a Part 135 or jet management environment (sales, operations, dispatch, or client service).
-
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive charter revenue performance.
-
Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
-
A proactive, solutions-driven mindset and the ability to thrive in a high-paced, detail-focused environment.
-
Familiarity with charter quoting and scheduling platforms (e.g., Avinode, Schedaero, FL3XX, Leon).
-
A strong team player who can lead through influence and example.
-
Bachelor's degree preferred, but equivalent aviation experience will be considered.
Desirable Skills
-
Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a charter or sales-focused team.
-
Working knowledge of aircraft performance, cost structures, and international trip planning.
-
Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
