Position Title: SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer / Administration Manager
Location: Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

Position Summary:
We are seeking a senior accountant to be responsible for the day-to-day, month-end
and annual accounts of the airline. The ideal candidate will have charter/commercial
airline experience and be well versed in managing financial records, ensuring statutory
and regulatory compliance and preparing accurate financial reports.
This role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Prepare and oversee the completion of monthly and annual financial reports.
• Conduct regular internal audits and be responsible for the accurate
presentation of financial results to management.
• Prepare budget and forecasting processes.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management
• Coordinate and support external audits and tax preparations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Mentor and train staff team members as needed.
• Implement and maintain controls to safeguard company assets.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Preference given to CPA Certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience at a senior level in an airline environment.
• Effective and confident communication skills.
• Hands-on approach and the ability to provide leadership to a small team.
• Experience in aviation stock/parts control & usage cost monitoring.
Required Skills:
• Understanding and experience with AccPac accounting software systems would
be an advantage.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently.
