Overview
On behalf of our client, a premier aerospace component repair and engineering facility, we are seeking a skilled Machinist with aerospace industry experience to join their precision machining team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in operating manual and CNC machines to produce and repair aircraft components, ensuring compliance with rigorous aviation standards. This role is essential for delivering high-quality, precision parts in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities

Machining Operations: Operate manual and CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and NC jig grinders, to manufacture or repair precision aircraft components such as valves, shafts, air cycle machine parts, and fuel pump housings, meeting tight tolerances.

Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) to execute machining tasks accurately.

Quality Control: Inspect machined components using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs) to ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, and other aviation regulatory standards.

Tool Setup and Maintenance: Set up machines with appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials, and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

Process Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and CNC technicians to implement custom repair solutions, including proprietary mechanical piece-part repairs, to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machining processes and inspections to meet aviation authority requirements and internal quality standards.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols and aerospace industry regulations to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of machining experience in the aerospace industry, with a focus on precision component manufacturing or repair.

Aerospace Expertise: Knowledge of aerospace component repair processes and familiarity with FAA and EASA standards, including Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs).

Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machines, reading blueprints, and machining aerospace materials (e.g., aluminum, titanium).

Precision and Attention to Detail: Ability to work within tight tolerances and perform accurate inspections using precision measurement tools.

Problem-Solving: Capability to troubleshoot machining issues and contribute to process improvements.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or training in machining or a related field preferred.
